My name is Emily and I am the owner of Derwent Valley Animal Sitting.
We are a family-run business specialising in providing an animal care service tailored to your specific needs.
I am a qualified Veterinary Care Assistant (with Sheffield College) and also have qualifications in Work-based Horse Care and Riding (with Stubbing Court Training Ltd).
Our business arose from a passion for animal keeping and animal welfare of all kinds. We have looked after a huge range of animals from the smallest (giant African land snails and hamsters), pets of all kinds (guinea pigs, rabbits and chinchillas), exotics (snakes and bearded dragons), farm animals (goats, hens and sheep) to working horses and pet ponies.
Our service begins with a free visit to your home to meet you and your pet/s, discuss your requirements and record details of your pets’ health, behaviour, preferences and emergency contact and veterinary details.
Each visit to care for your pets ends with a message to your phone to let you know that everything went well.
Services and Prices 2017
Dog Walking
Your dog will be walked individually, unless specified. Walks can be any length from 30 minutes. We are happy to exercise them off the lead with your written consent in a safe, traffic-free area. After their walk we will make sure that your dog is left with water, food (if specified) and clean and dry.
PRICE: £7.50 for first half hour then £3.50 per subsequent half hour
Cat and Small Animal Home Visits
We will visit your home to check your pets are OK, feed them and give them water, empty litter trays and clean out cages, groom them and give them some attention and quality time. We can administer medication, if required. We are always happy to carry out small jobs such as picking up the post or feeding the fish as well.
PRICE: £7.50 for first half hour then £3.50 per subsequent half hour
Horse Care and/or Riding
We can visit once or twice a day to help out with yard duties (feeding and watering, mucking out, grooming, turning out and bringing in). We can also provide an exercise service according to your requirements.
PRICE: £10 for first hour then £7.50 per hour
House and Pet Sitting
Whether you need somebody to sit with a very young or elderly animal for a couple of hours or stay in your house and care for all your animals for a couple of weeks, we can accommodate your needs. All feeding, administering of medication and generally keeping your pet entertained, well exercised and cared for are included in this service. We will stick as closely as possible to your normal routine to help your pet feel secure.
